won't you pray with us?

Will you please pray with us for 4 beautiful little children in Ethiopia?

You see, they are our 3 nephews and our niece!

Kurt's sister and brother-in-law are awaiting to pass court, AGAIN, for the 3rd time.

Ethiopia now requires 2 trips to Ethiopia, the first is for court. They have been back from the first trip and didn't pass court. Once home, they found out that they didn't pass court the following week. All of their papers are in order, but the issue is with the correct person showing up with the correct power of attorney papers that I guess gives the approval to relinquish the children. This court date is was makes the adoption final in the eyes of Ethiopia!!!!

The children have met their 2 new sisters from Texas and have another little brother waiting for them at home! They were sad to see Christi and Jon and Aliyah and Anna leave. But they know that when they return to Ethiopia, they will be going HOME with them!

In James 5:16, God's word says that the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

In Isaiah 43:2-7, God's word also says When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. for I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth-everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.

And finally, in Isaiah 45;2-3, God's declares I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD!

Will you pray these scriptures over my family today? Will you pray them over EVERY family that is adopting today? God knows their names! He knows their childrens' names!

"...From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do." Isaiah 46:11

Sunday Snapshot:{A Servant's Heart}

It's been 2 years since her first donation to Locks of Love! And Sydney's hair is finally long enough to donate again.
After working hard in the yard all day, we got her washed up real good and her locks sparklin' clean! We headed on down to the local Hair Cuttery for an hour...just us girls!

Her hair had to be at least 10 inches to cut. She had just that and a little to spare.

Sydney's not-so-favorite part of the whole thing...the hot hairdryer.

Lovin' her new do!

And my favorite part of the cut? It's what can't be seen. It's the heart of my little girl who's willing to give up something she loves for another little girl who needs it more than she does.

Sydney, I'm so proud of your servant's heart! I pray that it will continue to fill up with a
Big Crazy Kind of Love!

Dad Life!

biker babes

About 2 months ago, Kurt decided that it was time for us to have bikes.  There was a great sale going on at our local T*rget, so Kurt and I were able to get bikes and also a trailer for Jackson.

Jackson loved EVERY minute of the bike ride.  It had been a long time since we've taken Sydney and Jadon on their bikes outside of the cul-de-sac that we live on.  We do live in a quiet neighborhood, but there's something about venturing out into the street where cars actually drive by!

I must say that Sydney and Jadon did amazing!  I was really impressed with everything that Syd remembered from their bike course from school.

We rode a few times around the neighborhood and then headed home.  The next evening, we went again and I could barely sit down.  Mama is now waiting for Dada to buy her a wider seat.

We were also able to find a seat to put on the back of my bike.  The first time with Jackson on the back, I kept feeling his hand go up the back of my shirt and then down the back of my shorts!  I'm a little out of practice on riding a bike with one hand, so I'm hoping the neighbors weren't too appalled at the show they were getting!
(The old girl ain't what she used to be!)

Jackson doin' the happy dance!

Jackson's version of "Thumbs Up!"

Ready to roll

Sweet Syd with the setting sun!

It's been great to head out after dinner and just enjoy each other's company.

What does your family do together to just simply enjoy each other's company after a long hard day?
