Day 1- The Jade Factory and lunch

After we left the Wall we went to the Jade factory for some high pressure sales.

We reacquainted ourselves with how to choose real jade.

One thing we learned from our guide and from the salesperson is how much today's youth in China is pulling away from Chinese traditions...wearing silks, woman wearing a jade bangle given to them from their family when they get married, etc.

This has been Sydney's favorite part of the trip. Probably because she is our little artist and has an eye for creating things!

We didn't buy anything here but we did when we came in 2010. The pushiness of the salesgirl was more than I could bare. We will probable search more for a jade bangle when we get to Guangzhou.

After the factory tour and looking around, we ate lunch there. It was more food than we could possibly eat and felt like such a waste to have to leave our leftovers. The food was good but not as good as the food we had at the Cloissenne (sp) factory in 2010 nor was it as inexpensive. BUT with that said, it was yummy and we had a great time!

Jadon enjoyed all of the massive jade sculptures.

Pay no attention to the date stamp on the photos. We didn't realize it was on and incorrect until we uploaded all of our photos to our iPad!
